North Wales based Goldstar expert Phil McGurk is a Mechanical Engineer who has worked with Goldstars for over 12 years.
Phil started his engineering apprenticeship with Ferranti, and has a wide experience of design engineering. He also co-owned a garage in Rochdale, and has a vast knowledge of engine and gearbox repairs on everything from a Drixton Honda to the Delorian used in Back to the Future.
Phil rides his Goldstar - a 500 DBD, and is the current circuit record holder for a Goldstar on the Isle of Man Mountain Circuit.
Did we mention that he is also a racer….
Phil's list of achievements in racing is exemplary. With awards including Manx Grand Prix winner 2010 with a massive lead and a lap record that stand to this day in the Ultra-lightweight category. He was First Privateer in 2015,16 & 17 on a 350 Drixton Honda and his Goldstar was the first Goldie to complete not only a lap, but the circuit with a speed in excess of 100mph… something that the Goldstar owners club really appreciated.
Anyway, enough. With 39 starts and 9 podium finishes, Phil certainly doesn't need us to convince you he's 'the man'.
But what we will say is that Phil can make a Goldie engine to any size or specification.
Whether you want an over-square 350 or a 90 x 92mm 600cc thumper.
Indeed ANY bike that is just that bit special and needs a damn fine engineer... talk to Phil.
